In This Moment

(An ode to Robin Williams)

I got hands and they are longing to feel

I’ve got scars that are too deep to heal

I’ve got a heart and it’s as heavy as steel

I think I might sink like a stone

But I’m the clown behind a bright painted face

Falling down and rollin’ over the place

I hit the town but I could never erase

The feeling of being alone

Turn and breathe and pray to stay

In this moment with you

Precious moments are few and too far

All the laughter disappeared

Without warning again

I could sure use a friend

But you’re gone, but you’re gone

Taste the tears like warm summer rain

All these years I’ve been hiding the pain

No disease is gonna bind me in chains

I feel like I’m ready to go

Turn and breathe and pray to stay

In this moment with you

Precious moments are few and too far

The greatest gift you gave the world

Were the smiles in the end

When we needed a friend

You were there, you were there

Fear is the enemy, love is a symphony

No words could ever describe

What lies ahead of me will change my reality

From darkness to beauty and light...light

Here I go, I’m leaving orbit again

They don’t know how much harder it’s been

It’s all a show, I’m in a race I can’t win

I feel like I’m ready to go

Turn and breathe and pray to stay

In this moment with you

Precious moments are few and too far

The greatest gift you gave the world

Were the smiles in the end

When we needed a friend

You were there, you were there

Fear is the enemy, love is a symphony

No words could ever describe

What lies ahead of me will change my reality

From darkness to beauty and light...light

I got hands and they are longing to feel

I’ve got scars...
